The Word, our debut album

It seems like an age ago, but it’s less than nine months since we released our first record at home in Ireland. With a lovely little tour to accompany the release and visits to some great venues and record stores along the way, The Word (according to Nick Carswell & The Elective Orchestra) slowly fed into 2011′s amazing line-up of new original music. The critics enjoyed the record, and we were very lucky to play some lovely gigs, including some very special house gigs (like this one). The Word was the culmination of long many years of music together, and we’re very happy to have the record.

The album is available for purchase in a select few record stores in Ireland, and is available to download from iTunes or Bandcamp (there’s even some free downloads available from the latter). You’ll also find us on Spotify, Deezer and Rdio in certain regions – though naturally you’ll want to own your own copy – and you’re right too!

Hi there folks!

We’ve just recently over-hauled our wordpress site (the one you’re looking at now) for something like the third time, and this time we’re scratching all our previous posts. They may still exist on here somewhere, but we’re damned if we’ll be able to find them – or would want to, more to the point!
